As a selected and trained mentor in the STARS Internship Program—a school-based leadership and youth empowerment initiative—I guided middle school students through behavioural, emotional, and academic challenges while facilitating workshops and building strong peer support systems.

Over the course of the program, I progressed from a mentor to President of the STARS Internship Program, overseeing operations, supporting counselor-led initiatives, mentoring fellow mentors, and representing the program across platforms.

  • 1:1 Mentorship: Supported middle school girls through weekly check-ins, using the "I do, we do, you do" model to encourage independent goal-setting, academic motivation, and personal growth.

A Cross-Cultural Journey

As a Marketing & Digital Strategy Intern at Monginis Egypt, I had the unique opportunity to work at the intersection of marketing, web development, and cultural exchange. This short but immersive experience gave me deep insight into Egypt’s consumer market while also sharpening my communication and branding skills in a bilingual work environment.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Website Content & Structure:
    Joined in the structural redesign of the Monginis Egypt website, overseeing content mapping, section layout, and navigation bar functionality for a smooth, Gen Z friendly user experience.

  • Company Profile Creation:
    Wrote a full brand profile including About Us, Mission & Vision, Branches, Products, and Franchise Opportunities—creating a narrative that captured the brand’s legacy and appeal.

  • Product Descriptions:
    Designed a uniform template and wrote clear, compelling product descriptions to enhance usability and clarity across the site.

  • Competitor Analysis:
    Conducted a strategic audit of top competitor websites to gather insights and develop competitive, differentiated content strategies for Monginis.

  • Visual Direction:
    Collaborated with the graphics and photography teams—selecting images, giving creative direction during photoshoots, and ensuring visual consistency throughout the site.

  • Cross-Department Collaboration:
    Worked closely with the Supply Chain Management (SCM) and HR departments to ensure web content accurately reflected internal operations and brand values.

  • Franchise Campaign Development:
    Co-developed investor-attracting franchise campaign materials, drafting web copy and design suggestions for potential franchisees.

  • Social Media Input:
    Contributed design ideas and drafted caption content for social media posts, enhancing the online branding efforts of Monginis Egypt.

  • One of the most impactful aspects of this internship was my role as a liaison between the Indian web development team and the Egypt-based marketing team. This required real-time coordination, translation of strategy across cultural lines, and a sharp sense of diplomacy and digital fluency. I was also mentored closely by the Marketing Head, gaining invaluable insights into retail marketing, B2C branding, and agile team management.
